Team TIS Tuesday: Meghann Rauch

Welcoming Our New Board Member: Meghann Rauch

We’re excited to announce that Meghann Rauch has joined the Talbot Interfaith Shelter (TIS) board! With over a decade of experience supporting our mission, Meghann brings a wealth of passion and dedication to our organization. We had the chance to learn more about her journey and vision for TIS.

How did you first hear about TIS?
“I learned about TIS through Young Professionals over 10 years ago. They set up a volunteer calendar to come to the shelter and drop off dinners. My mom and I volunteered to bring a meal and eat dinner with the families at the shelter. Shortly thereafter, I had my boys set up a lemonade stand to benefit TIS and continued to donate and keep up with TIS throughout the years. The TIS volunteer community is kind and generous. They are keenly aware of the homelessness crisis throughout Talbot County.”

What drives you to volunteer?
“I want to help improve the misfortune of the underserved, many times ignored in our community. My office, Rauch Inc., is located next to the Talbot Interfaith Shelter locations. I often hear children playing in the backyard—it breaks my heart.”

What are some goals you hope to accomplish or support during your tenure as a TIS board member?
“Advocacy for our homeless community members is vital. I want to promote a better understanding of mental health and improve access to mental health professionals.”

Meghann’s commitment to our mission and her firsthand experience with the families we serve will undoubtedly make a significant impact. Please join us in welcoming Meghann to the TIS board!
