EASTON — Talbot Interfaith Shelter’s annual Lip Sync Battle fundraiser may be sold out, but there are still ways to watch the competition Saturday night and make donations.

Slated for Saturday at 7 p.m. at the Talbot County Community Center in Easton, the Lip Sync Battle sold out this week, according to Talbot Interfaith Shelter executive director Julie Lowe. More than 450 people are expected to attend.

For those that can’t attend or didn’t secure tickets, Eastern Shore Brewing in St. Michaels is hosting its second annual watch party of the event. The Lip Sync Battle can also be live streamed from home by visiting talbotinterfaithshelter.org/lsb and scrolling down to the live stream section.

Donations can be made at talbotinterfaithshelter.org/lsb. Lowe says around $116,000 has already been raised, with the end goal of $150,000.

Lowe encourages community members to watch the event even if they didn’t secure tickets.

“There is so much energy, and we have transformed the new gym at the Talbot County Community Center into a big night club,” she said.

“It’s such a cross section of the community that attends this event that makes my heart beat harder than ever,” Lowe added.

This year, six live competition teams and 16 video competition teams are vying to be this year’s champions. There are two winners in each category — the team that raises the most in support of the shelter’s mission, and the best performance/video as decided by a panel of local celebrity judges.

Ten new teams have joined the battle this year, including the Talbot County Sheriff’s Office.

Sheriff Joe Gamble said: “The deputies at the Talbot County Sheriff’s Office are excited to join the Lip Sync Battle. We are proud to help raise funds and awareness for Talbot Interfaith Shelter, supporting neighbors who need a safe place and a fresh start.”

Easton Utilities has also thrown its hat into the ring for this year’s competition. President and CEO John Horner said they chose to join Lip Sync because “at Easton Utilities, we believe strong communities are built when neighbors support one another. Partnering with Talbot Interfaith Shelter for their Lip Sync Battle fundraiser reflects our commitment to helping ensure that everyone in our community has access to safety, stability, and hope.”

Voting for both the live show and video competitions remains open until the very end of the live Lip Sync Battle event on April 18. Head to talbotinterfaithshelter.org to meet all the teams, watch this year’s incredible videos and vote.
