I am thrilled about Talbot Interfaith Shelter’s upcoming Lip Sync Battle fundraiser! We are less than one month away from our amazing event that promises music, joy, and unforgettable and hilarious performances—all in support of a cause that matters deeply: helping individuals and families move from homelessness to housing stability.
Events like this are more than just fun—they are essential to our mission. The funds raised will directly support our S4 Program, ensuring that people experiencing homelessness have access to safe housing, vital resources, and a path toward long-term stability. We are aiming for a goal of $150,000 (roughly 10% of our annual budget) and we are over halfway there. Check it out here.
But fundraising isn’t just about dollars—it’s about community and awareness of the traumas of homelessness and what TIS is doing to alleviate that in the lives of the 50-60 people who are in our care at any given time. Your participation, whether as an audience member, a performer, or a supporter, helps raise awareness of the challenges our neighbors face and shows that our community cares. The energy, enthusiasm, and generosity of people like you make it possible for us to transform lives every single day. I just love seeing the broad cross-section of our community members having a grand time at the event, and all the brave souls who put themselves ‘out there’ to help us raise funds. It’s an evening to cheer and dance and ‘let your hair down’.
