Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Month

November is Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Month, and our community has come together to raise awareness for our mission of ending homelessness on the Mid-Shore by providing Shelter, Stability, Support, and a path to Success for families and individuals in need. See below for a list of all of the amazing things going on this month!!

RECURRING DONOR MATCH CAMPAIGN – When you donate monthly, you ensure that our guests receive the services they need year-round! HILL’S CAFE AND JUICE BAR SOUP SALES – Our business partners at Hill’s will be donating a percentage of their soup sales for the month of November in support of our S4 Program. They will also have some awesome embroidered TIS hats for sale for $20!

EAT SPROUT THANKSGIVING PIES – Order your Thanksgiving pies from Eat Sprout, and 100% of the proceeds will be donated in support of our S4 Program!

DOC’S DOWNTOWN GRILLE THURSDAY NIGHTS – Dine with our business partners at Doc’s Downtown Grille on Thursday nights in November… they will be donating 15% of their Thursday night sales to TIS!

DIAPERS AND WIPES DRIVE – Help us stock up on diapers of all sizes and baby wipes! Easton Acupuncture and Long Time Sun Yoga Studio will be collecting these items throughout the month!

HOUSEHOLD ITEMS DRIVE – Our business partner Greg Haddaway of State Farm will be collecting household items throughout the month of November. Items we always need at Easton’s Promise: paper towels, toilet paper, tissues, dish detergent, dish soap, hand soap, free and clear laundry detergent and dryer sheets, trash bags, food storage containers, baggies of all sizes, coffee, creamer, and sugar. When you drop them by Greg’s office, get a free insurance quote, and he will donate $5 to TIS!

PAMPERED CHEF PARTY – Local Pampered Chef saleswoman Danielle Goodman is holding a party for TIS from November 4th – 17th. Stock up on kitchen items, do some holiday shopping, and help our neighbors get back on their feet all at the same time! Join the Facebook group HERE, or start shopping HERE!

TIPS FOR TIS – Local musicians Jayme D, Justin Ryan, and John Belser will be donating 50% of their tips from their live shows this month to TIS!

GUEST GIFT COLLECTION – Beginning on November 11th, our friends at Ophiuroidea and TriCycle and Run in St. Michaels and Edward Jones in Easton will be collecting holiday gifts for our guests! Visit any location, pick a wish list, and return the wrapped and labeled items to the collection site. You can help provide an amazing holiday for our guests!

CASEY FAMILY SOCK DRIVE – The wonderful Casey Family is holding their annual sock drive to benefit TIS in Easton and His Hope Haven in Denton. Drop new socks off between November 15th and December 20th at Storm and Daughter’s Ice Cream, Turnbridge Talbot, Subway on Marlboro Ave., Sam’s Pizza Restaurant, and Podiatrist Thomas Sewell.

SPAGHETTI SPECIAL AT THE WASHINGTON STREET PUB – Order the Spaghetti Special at the Washington Street Pub on November 17th, and the proceeds will be donated in support of our program!

THE COUNTRY SCHOOL FOOD DRIVE/ART CONTEST – The Country School will be holding a food drive from November 18th to the 22nd to stock our small food pantry. They are also holding an upper school art contest with a theme of homelessness.

HEALTHY HAPPY HOUR – Local Arbonne representative BettyJo Costantino will be hosting a Healthy Happy Hour on November 18th at the Blue Crab in St. Michaels from 5:00 – 6:30 pm. A percentage of proceeds from the event will go to TIS!

THANKSGIVING DINNERS FROM THE BARTLETT PEAR – Treat your family to a pre-made gourmet Thanksgiving dinner from The Bartlett Pear and Hambleton House, and they will donate a portion of the proceeds to our program!

GAME NIGHT AT SNIFTER’S IN EASTON – Enjoy an evening out playing OpinionNation at Snifter’s in Easton on November 20th. Marketing and Development Director Jayme Dingler will be co-hosting this fun, Family Feud-like game, and a portion of the proceeds will be donated to TIS.

SING FOR JOY– Join us at Union United Methodist Church in Easton for a night of gospel music for TIS, hosted by the Covenant Gospel Choir. The concert is on November 23rd at 5:00 pm, and they are asking for free will offerings in support of our program.
