Eastern Shore Shelters Prepare for Cold Weather, Continue COVID Guidelines

CAMBRIDGE, Md. – As we enter cooler temperatures, Eastern Shore shelters are bracing for impact. Many say capacity along with COVID-19 guidelines present new challenges to helping the homeless…

That’s where Jayme Dingler of Talbot Interfaith Shelter hopes to step in.

“Everyone’s just kind of waiting. You got to prepare for the worst and hope for the best,” Dingler said. “We are hoping to take some steps to expand our capacity so that we can serve more people and what that might look is being able to serve more people that have a short term need, but in the mean time it is very challenging.”
