Who is TIS? Meet Peggy Feehley!

Team TIS Tuesday Spotlight

Last week at our volunteer luncheon, we had the joy of celebrating Peggy Feehley for her incredible years of service and commitment to TIS. Peggy’s unwavering dedication and compassionate spirit have touched countless lives—and inspired our team every step of the way.

PEGGY FEEHLEY, ONE OF TIS’S UNSUNG HEROINES

Since the Talbot Interfaith Shelter first opened its doors in late 2008, Peggy Feehley from the Presbyterian Church of Easton has been preparing homemade meals for its guests. At first, this involved food for 5 guests and several supervisors; today, at Easton’s Promise, the dinners are more likely to be for 12-15 people. And Peggy provides them frequently and asks me each month if we need a dinner for our day, the 13th. .

Peggy has been a member of PCE for over 40 years and spent much of that time as a teacher in Caroline County. Now that she’s “retired” she still works with the education system, coordinating home schoolers’ requirements with the state, interviewing parents and more.

Peggy is married to Michael Feehley and is grandmother to 17 year old Emma. She has always participated in our church’s food ministries, bringing non-perishable packaged and canned goods to our food pantry, taking advantage of food sales. She also found needy families in her school that our church ladies’ circle could support at Christmas with clothing and gifts.

Both Peggy and Michael like to travel; they celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary on a trip through the Panama Canal. They have visited many countries including those in the British Isles and nations in the Caribbean.

Thank you, Peggy. You have been a major part of our church’s support for TIS.

–Mary Beth Goll, Team Coordinator for PCE
