As we close out our fiscal year this month, I am writing to you with a heart full of profound gratitude.
Just a few weeks ago, we shared a sobering reality with you: Talbot Interfaith Shelter was facing a significant year-end deficit. The thought of entering a new fiscal year with that kind of financial strain—and the potential impact it could have on the men, women, and children who rely on us—was incredibly distressing.
But when the call went out, you stepped up in a way that truly blew us away!
Thanks to your extraordinary generosity, quick action, and deep compassion, we didn’t just close the gap—we secured the foundation our guests count on every single day.
Because of you, all our critical services remain intact and our Program continues providing Hope. Your gifts ensure that our S4 Program can continue providing not just a safe place to stay, but the intensive case management, mental health support, and life skills training that empower our guests to break the cycle of homelessness for good.
Your support did so much more than fix a line item in our budget. You sent a powerful message to our neighbors navigating their darkest moments: You are seen, you are valued, and you are not walking this path alone. As we head into the summer months, we do so with renewed energy, financial stability, and immense pride in the community that surrounds us. On behalf of our staff, our board, and most importantly, the families and individuals who call TIS home—thank you for being our bedrock.
Thanks to your incredible generosity, we not only met our $200,000 Match Challenge—we surpassed it. What an amazing testament to the compassion and commitment of this community.
While this milestone is certainly worth celebrating, our work is never finished. Every day, more men, women, and children turn to TIS for shelter, support, and hope. As we begin a new fiscal year, I hope you’ll continue walking alongside us as we provide Shelter, Stability, Support, and a path to Success for our neighbors in need.
