I support the shelter because I realized, but for the grace of God, it could be me who is in need of shelter, and who needs someone to look after my needs. So it gives me great joy... to support the shelter and its needs.

Take Your RMD as a Charitable Distribution to TIS
If you are 73 or older with an IRA, you are required to take annual distributions, which are taxed as income. Taking your RMD as a Charitable Distribution may eliminate the need to pay income taxes on those funds. Talk to your Financial Advisor about whether this giving option makes sense for you.
