Company Description

Talbot Interfaith Shelter (TIS) was formed in 2008 by a group of concerned individuals in Talbot County. We operated as a “homeless” homeless shelter for five years, rotating between faith communities during the cold weather months and serving 5 individuals at a time. In 2014, we received a permit to operate a year-round shelter facility at a former bed and breakfast called Easton’s Promise, which we use to help families in need of shelter. During the pandemic, we began receiving many more calls for homeless single individuals so we purchased the house next door, Evelyn’s Place, which is now open. With this house, TIS has expanded our S4 Program (Shelter, Stability, Support, Success), which includes case management, educational programming, and subsidized transitional housing to assist families and single adults struggling with the traumas of poverty and homelessness.
